What does Medical Clerical Staff do?
Some of the activities you may be responsible for include: maintaining patient charts, accounts receivable and payable, coding insurance forms and preparing computerized billing. In addition, you will schedule appointments, type correspondence and transcribe doctor's orders and reports. Best of all, your career skills will travel with you wherever you go, and the opportunities for administrative/clerical graduates are endless.

Where does Medical Clerical Staff work?
The majority of graduates serve the profession as clerical staff employed by doctors in private practice or clinic settings. These offices are staffed by both general practitioners and specialists in the medical profession. Other graduates are employed by rapidly growing large group-practice systems and HMO's. In these settings, several general practice doctors or specialists join and share one facility, while employing many clerical assistants. Clinics, medical centers, medical institutions, research centers, laboratories, nursing homes, specialized care centers and hospitals are all facilities that employ medical administrative staff.
